The Canadian Institute of Integrative Nursing Development & Education Ltd.© (TheCIINDE©)

At the Canadian Institute of Integrative Nursing Development & Education Ltd. © (TheCIINDE—pronounced The KIND), we recognize that providing care places a high demand on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual resources.

MISSION Statement: We're dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of nurses and their clients through holistic practices. Our mission is to promote a holistic care approach, starting with nurse well-being. We aim to revive the essence of nursing by providing education, support, and tools for positive impact. We believe in respecting individual needs, cultural diversity, and the mind-body-spirit connection in care. Our evidence-based programs empower both nurses and clients through holistic approaches.

VISION Statement: We envision a world where nurses honour nurses, support one another, and are advocates for adopting a life-style where self-care is a part of everything that they do. As self-care agents and coaches, they act as role models in the community assisting others in achieving optimal health and well-being, while preventing illness and disease.

Canadian Holistic Nurses Association

The Canadian Holistic Nurses Association was started in 1986 by a group of nurses from British Columbia, Canada. They began as a special interest group of the Registered Nurses Association of British Columbia. The group applied to the Canadian Nurses’ Association and was granted Special Interest Group Status in 1986.

MISSION Statement: To support the practice of holistic nursing across Canada by: acting as a body of knowledge for its practitioners, by advocating with policy makers and provincial regulatory bodies and by educating Canadians on the benefits of complementary and integrative health care.

VISION Statement: Complementary and integrative health care are incorporated into all aspects of nursing and the patient care experience within the Canadian health care system.

Guided Reflection: Your Own

Before → During → After

Take a quiet moment. Breathe. Place yourself inside this arc, not just as a listener of others’ stories, but as the author of your own.

Before: Naming Your Now

  • Where are you feeling tired, overwhelmed, or disconnected in your nursing journey?
  •   What are the “pain points” you carry into work or home life?
  • If you had to capture your before in one word or image, what would it be?

Write it down. Give voice to your “before.”

During: Imagining the Shift

  • What would it look like to step into a supportive circle of nurses who understand you?
  • Which areas of your life or practice would you love to see shift? (ex: balance, confidence, clarity, creativity, health)
  • What inner resources or external tools do you imagine helping you grow?

Sketch or describe the seed of change you’d love to plant.

After: Envisioning Your Transformation

  • Imagine yourself one year from now—how are you showing up differently?
  •  What kind of work are you doing that lights you up?
  •  How do you feel in your body, heart, and spirit?
  •  What words would you want others to use to describe your presence?

Let yourself picture your “after.” Write it in present tense, as if it’s already true.

Connecting the Dots

  • What’s one small step you could take today that begins your during?
  •  How might this symposium be part of your shift?
  •  What’s calling to you as you listen to others share their arcs?

Circle your “next right step.”

Your story is waiting to be written. Don’t let your “before” define the rest of your journey—step into your “during” with us on September 24, and begin shaping the “after” you deserve.
