Janessa Rauch is a founding executive board member and faculty at The Canadian Institute of Integrative Nursing Development & Education Ltd. She is a Registered Nurse and Board Certified Nurse Coach. She is currently working towards her master’s in nursing exploring the self-care practices of pediatric oncology nurses. Janessa believes that as nurses we hold unique gifts and perspective that make us natural agents of change when it comes to healthcare. When Sherry Hole, the founder of TheCIINDE, began to share her mission of bringing the heART back into nursing with Janessa she became hooked on the endless possibilities that were about to be born through this incredible institute. Now, a couple years later, she feels incredibly blessed to be part of such a wonderful mission bringing holistic nursing and nurse coaching to nurses in Canada, and beyond.
In 2017, Janessa started an independent practice called The Nurse Coach. Currently Janessa is passionate about working with healthcare providers, specifically nurses and is exploring ways to infuse cooking into her services. Janessa’s mission is to work with you to become proactive, rather than reactive when it comes to your health and wellness. She believes that understanding the stories we tell ourselves about our health and are pivotal. When we understand our story and the thoughts that often guide us along the way, we become more in tune with our mind, body, and spirit.
Who are Janessa’s Clients?
As a registered nurse she understands what it feels like to work in multiple areas of healthcare. She understands the complexities that come with wanting to care for your clients to the best of your ability but find you have come up against internal and external resistance to caring for yourself. In working through her own struggles with burnout, compassion fatigue, and lack of self-care, she has come to realize that her passion lies in working with healthcare professionals experiencing the same struggles she once identified as a “normal” part of life. In her work with The Nurse Coach, she has identified that nurses know how to be healthy, but often what they know gets lost in translation and they make poor lifestyle choices, specifically around food and exercise. Through this and her passion for cooking she has been taking a private holistic chef program with Beyond Nourished and she is preparing to launch the newest arm of her practice called The Well Fed Nurse, where she not only works with healthcare professionals in a coaching capacity, but she also works with them as a private holistic chef to create healthy and nourishing meals that help them thrive in mind, body and soul. This is a service that will only be available in Calgary, Alberta.
Business Coaching & Business Development Course for Healthcare Professionals
Janessa enjoys working with nurses who are looking for guidance on how to navigate the world of independent practice. While this is not what she does full time, it has become a passion of hers. Janessa has co-authored a course through TheCIINDE called Business Development Course for Healthcare Professionals to provide nurses and other healthcare providers with a step-by-step guide to starting an independent practice.
“Each day I am humbled and grateful that I have been gifted the opportunity to grow alongside such incredible women and nurse leaders, paving the way for holistic nursing and nurse coaching in Canada.”
